Helen Mendel, CMD

President of the All Pro Promotions Company

is a management, marketing consultant and special events producer for successful Bay Area corporations and non-profits. She has a history of delivering outstanding financial results and positive community awareness.

Since 1999, Ms. Mendel has served as the Senior VP of Marketing, Operations & Events to the Bay Area Sports Organizing Committee (BASOC). BASOC competed to bring the 2012 & 2016,2024 Olympic Games to the San Francisco Bay Area and is currently focused on bringing national and international sporting events to the region. BASOC is the community partner with the Northern California Olympians & Paralympians. Ms. Mendel produces BASOC’s variety of special events including the Bay Area Senior Games.

Ms. Mendel served as the Director of Operations & Marketing for the 2011 USA Swimming National and Junior National Championships with over 3,500 swimmers at Stanford which was broadcast live on NBC. Ms. Mendel also served as the Operations & Marketing Director for the 2009 Summer National Senior Games held at Stanford University and other venues with 10,000 athletes age 50+ competing in 23 sports for two weeks. Mendel was the Operations Director for the 2014 WFG Continental Cup of Curling held at the Orleans Arena in Las Vegas with Team World vs team North America curlers competing 30 days prior to the Olympic Winter Games in Sochi. This was the first time the event was held outside of Canada and it set all attendance records. Mendel helped produce the 2014 Men’s Foil World Cup with over 20 countries’ best fencers held in San Francisco and managed by BASOC and was held in the USA for the first time.

Ms. Mendel has produced some of the Bay Area’s premier celebrity fund-raising events including: the Annual Bay Area Sports Organizing Committee’s Celebrity Golf Classics, ValleyCare Hospital Foundation’s Celebrity Golf Tournaments, Five-100 year anniversary gala events for Sutter VNA & Hospice. She also produced the 2000, 2004, 2008, 2012 & 2016 “Welcome Home Olympians” awards dinners welcoming home the Northern California Olympians & Paralympians from their Olympic Games and the Olympian’s Night of Champions opening Ceremonies of the Winter Games watch parties with NBC TV.

Ms. Mendel was the Director of the prestigious Gifford Collegiate Golf Championship at CordeValle hosted by UCLA, featuring 14 leading U.S. University men’s golf teams. Ms. Mendel produced the 2013 Pac-12 Men’s Golf Championship which UCLA hosted. The Pac-12 Men’s & Women’s Golf Championships for USC and the 2021 Pac-12 Men’s Golf Championship for UC Berkeley. Ms. Mendel has negotiated major sponsorships for the American Cancer Society Golf Tournaments, and

produced several of the San Francisco 49ers Foundation Golf Classics and other foundation fundraising events.

Ms. Mendel’s corporate and non-profit clients have included Ghirardelli Square, Los Gatos Old Town Center, Blackhawk Plaza, Princeton Plaza Mall, Santa Clara County and Alameda County Fairgrounds, California Cafe Restaurant Corporation, Le Boulanger, Signature Hospitality Group, the Ruby Hill Charity Committee, East Bay Agency for Children, Sutter VNA & Hospice Foundation, the San Francisco 49ers Foundation, Nike USA, PGA Tour Fry’s.com Open, UCLA Men’s Golf, Stanford Men’s Golf, Northern California Olympians & Paralympians Alumni Chapter, NFL Alumni Northern California Chapter, ABHOW Foundation, Bay Area Sports Hall of Fame (BASHOF), the Positive Coaching Alliance Northern California Chapter and Anne Cribbs and Company.

Ms. Mendel has also won various marketing awards for her expertise in producing special mega–events, and innovative media campaigns. Ms. Mendel and her design team from BASOC won two awards of excellence for the SF 2012 Olympic Bid “Bridge to the Future” poster series and a marketing award for the Bid’s outdoor bus and billboard campaign. She created and produced The San Francisco 49ers “Cookin With Champions” 1995 cookbook. The book received rave reviews, and is a popular 49ers collector’s item.

Helen Mendel held the position of CEO of the Professional BusinessWomen of California (PBWC) for 2 ½ years (2007-2009) a nonprofit organization founded by Congresswoman Jackie Speier. PBWC is a membership based organization with 25,000 members providing the tools needed to succeed in the business world by offering ways to enhance business leadership skills, build mentor relationships, and pursue entrepreneurial success. She managed all events for the organization including the annual conference with 5,000+ women in attendance at Moscone Center, in San Francisco.

Ms. Mendel proudly served as the 1997-98 Chairman of the Board of the American Cancer Society of California the highest volunteer office in the organization. The California Division is the largest cancer fighting Division in the United States with over 500,000 volunteers and raises more than $80 million annually. In 2009, Mendel was awarded the National Capitol Dome Award for advocacy. In 2005, she was awarded the St. George Medal of Honor, the most prestigious national volunteer award.

Ms. Mendel was also the President of the American Cancer Society, Silicon Valley Region for two years, and is a strong public issues advocate. Mendel holds the enviable record as the first Northern California volunteer to raise a million dollars for the organization, winning the Junior League’s prestigious Volunteer of the Year award. Appointed in 1999 by the Alameda County Board of Supervisors to the Children and Families First Five Commission, Ms. Mendel served as the Commission Chairman for 8 years and served on the Executive Committee for 17 years. The Commission oversees the county’s $20 million annual tobacco tax revenues funded by California Proposition 10.
